  1. They only had one K class this year and about 15 or so siblings so there were about 5 K openings. I just looked and we are still about #70 on the waitlist, sigh. I had high hopes for this school b/c it was outside of the regular lottery. I felt I didn't have all my eggs in one basket. I liked that old principal that I met on the tour, but was turned off by all the parent drama. Doesn't matter anyway, we couldn't get in!

  2. We applied to CACS and are now on the "wait list" Everyone said you need to reconfirm you want to be on the wait list Just like with reg SFUSD list. No one seems interested or understands what you are talking about when you call the school. They just send you to the web site. Now it summer What do I do?

  3. Sarah, they send you to the website to look at where you are on the waitlist.
If you applied, and are on the waitlist, there is no need to confirm that you are still on the waitlist.
    Hope this helps :)

  4. All I can say is the best of luck to the new people in charge at CAC. San Francisco has a dearth of smaller K through 8s for those kids who need them. As such, anything that improves CAC is going to be good for everyone. I'm going to tour this fall for middle school for next year and am hoping that we'll see the positive impact of these changes. Fingers crossed!

  5. To July 8, 7:04 AM:

It ain't over 'til it's over! There is very little movement on the waitlist during the summer months. Once school starts, there will me lots of movement all over the district- public, private, parochial and charter. Don't give up!

  6. Our Fall tour schedule is now available at:
    http://www.creativeartscharter.org/enroll/schedule.asp

Next year there will be two new kindergarten classes so please consider applying to CACS. Please also note that we have a separate application process from the District so it will not count against your 7 choices.
