Hot topic: Important upcoming dates

An SF K Files readers asked me to post the following:

I just got off the phone with EPC and they informed me of the following:

July 6, 2009:SFUSD mails letters to families where waitpool choice can be assigned.

Aug 18, 2009: SFUSD mails letters to families where waitpool choice can be assigned

Aug 28, 2009: SFUSD CALLS families where waitpool choice can be assigned.

Sept 18, 2009: SFUSD CALLS families where waitpool choice can be assigned.

Afterwards, the waitpool gets dissolved.

  1. Additionally, from a document I got at Open Enrollment:

    6/19 - Last date to make WP changes
    7/6 - Mail any WP approvals

    8/7 - Last date to make WP changes
    8/18 - CALL any WP approvals

    8/21 - Last date to make WP changes
    8/28 - Call any WP approvals

    9/11 - Last date to make WP changes
    9/18 - Call any WP approvals

  3. Does anyone know the answer to this -- on the waitpool, if there are 2 approved medical appeals, are they in or still on waitlist but get the priority when spaces open?

  4. They're on the waitlist, but at a higher priority than the 0/7 cohort. They still have to wait for a space to open.

  5. Can anyone tell me what the process is for making a waitpool change? Are the forms available on the SFUSD website? (I couldn't tell from my review of the site).
